DAVID WAITE
PADI IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR
PADI #413854
DIVERS ALERT NETWORK INSTRUCTOR #63132

I started diving in 2014, with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving. After my first breaths under the water and seeing this amazing portion of our planet that not many people get to experience, I was hooked. I got certified shortly after that. My love for diving engulfed my life, and I continued to take courses and dive around the world. In 2018 I became a PADI Divemaster and began working at Under Water Works. In 2019 I became a PADI Scuba Instructor. I love teaching scuba diving and introducing an amazing new world to people.

I try and dive as much as possible, I enjoy diving in our colder water environments, and also in the Central and South American regions. Dive travel is a passion of mine. While diving I am fascinated by all sea life, but truly enjoy the small / micro life and invertebrates. Nudibranchs’ by far are my all-time favorite followed closely by the Octopus. I have an interest in marine conservation and marine wildlife awareness courses. I teach a specialty course in Nudibranch awareness where you can learn about these amazing animals and how to protect them. I actively volunteer in the Oregon Zoo Dive Program, where I am able to help care for the animals in the Marine Life exhibits.

I am also an Emergency First Response Instructor, and a Divers Alert Network Instructor. CPR/AED/First Aid training is important for any individual to have and I suggest everyone should be trained in these areas. You could save a life. With the Divers Alert Network Instructor, I can train you even further in first aid training for diving related emergencies. Some courses in this area offer here at Under Water Works are CPR/AED/First Aid, CPR for Healthcare Professional, Emergency Oxygen Provider, Neurological Assessment provider, First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Animals, Dive Emergency Management Provider, and Diving First Aid for Dive Professionals.

I hope to help you in your Scuba Diving goals and adventures!
