I have always been fascinated with the underwater world. As a child, I would watch Jacques- Yves Cousteau every chance I could get, not minding if it was a rerun. I was always dreaming of the day when I would take my first breath underwater. Well, some 35 plus years later I did just that and will never forget the feeling of awe and amazement that occurred when I did. I hope to share these same feelings with everyone that is interested in experiencing this amazing and thrilling experience.
I received my Open Water certification on my birthday weekend in September 2006 here at Under Water Works by Dave Ishmael. I loved diving so much that I could not see myself waiting until spring or summer to continue, so I purchased my first dry suit and away I went. I went on a dive weekend at least once a month from then on. Almost all of my diving has been here in the Pacific Northwest. I love the creatures that we have here from the Wolf Eel, the Giant Pacific Octopus, and even the little Grunt Sculpin. Other places that I have dived are Cozumel, Roatan, Hawaii, Missouri Iron Mine, Florida, Southern California, and Alaska.
I started my professional certification in January 2010 by entering the Divemaster Apprenticeship with Dave Ishmael. I received my Divemaster certification in June 2010. I found out that I enjoyed teaching so much that I wanted to go on and get my Instructor's certification, and I received my certification in June 2011. My goal is to share this experience with anyone who shows an interest in a safe, fun and exciting way. I look forward to seeing you in one of our next classes!
